The Student Innovation Board (SIB) is a select group of students from 20 engineering colleges and universities in the DTTC network. SIB members work with fellow students, faculty, utility and industry professionals to develop innovative solutions to key challenges facing the electric power industry.
In addition to showing leadership qualities and earning the respect from fellow students and faculty, SIB members have demonstrated an interest in power systems, smart grid and distributed technologies. They also have a strong academic record.
Being involved with the SIB may inspire students to pursue careers in power systems engineering and distributed technologies associated with the evolving smart grid, helping address anticipated shortages in the electric power industry workforce.
